Yesterday was officially the first day of Fall. Here on the Coast that means brighter days filled with sunshine and cool crisp mornings! I love Fall here, anywhere really. The colors, the different cast the sun has, the smell of wood smoke in the air on those crisp mornings.
Walking on the Old Haul Road during these gorgeous sunny days is incredible. Glittering ocean, suttle winds, and all the dogs frolicking on the beach. It's days like these that I wish would last longer than they do.
Apple orchards are full of yummy apples ripe for the picking. The dogs love to go picking with me because I always drop some and they are later found snacking away on their treasures! Blackberries and huckleberries are still out there too!
During the evenings we take time on the deck and read with a glass of wine....the cats and dogs just lounge around at my feet ...tired from the game of fetch we just finished.
Get out there and enjoy this beautiful time of year!

Rescue Mission
Paws is committed to not only you and your pet, but to pets that don't have a home. Daily we get visitors from all over that tell us their great stories of their great rescued pets. Sometimes while captivated by their tale I ponder, who really saved who here?
We're all of the same mind set here, so let's admit it....our pets mean the world to us! Where would we be in our lives without them? Sure, they depend on us for food, and shelter...they also rely on us for companionship. We rely on them just as much if not more in some cases for that unconditional love they provide.
Now and then I reflect on the days I was fortunate enough to work in an animal hospital and animal shelter. I can recall each animal, and situation with more clarity than I can remember some things in my childhood! I think the work was so rewarding because of a number of reasons. To name one, the animals were genuine. Whether in pain, afraid or really happy. No games, hidden agenda, or alterior motive unless treats were in the offing.
I learned so much from that work about human nature. The good, the bad, and the ugly.
I learned about animal nature; enjoy the simple things in life....really enjoy them.
I would like to send a shout out to the two women that came in today from Sugarland Ranch in Reno, NV check out the website and see the great work they do! http://www.sugarlandranch.org/
